PROJECT COEDUCATE

CONSORTIUM OF ENGAGED DIVERSE URBAN CHANGE AGENTS AND TEACHER EDUCATORS

About

The purpose of COEDUCATE is to prepare doctoral level special education leaders to meet the demands of high-need of Special Education Professionals. The outcome of this program is twelve doctoral level special education professors who are prepared to work in urban and minority higher education settings.These professors will remain in the field with expertise in evidence-based practices associated with improved outcomes for high-needs students with disabilities. COEDUCATE will yield a collaborative consortium of scholars in the field, of urban special education. COEDUCATE will feature a multifaceted mentoring process guided by experienced faculty, an advisory board, and near-peer mentors. Through shared academic experiences across universities, with an emphasis on culturally sustaining, evidenced-based inclusive instructional practices, research in high-need urban communities, and internship activities that engage scholars in working across areas of teaching, research, and service, the program will prepare emerging special education leaders.

The Program

Project COEDUCATE is dedicated to providing scholars with an extensive range of resources that are tailored to assist them in successfully navigating through their academic journeys. This program understands that students can sometimes face challenges while pursuing their studies, and it seeks to ease their burden by providing them with the necessary tools that can help them stay on track and achieve their goals. Project COEDUCATE offers a wide variety of resources, including study materials, reference materials, and mentorship opportunities that are designed to cater to the needs of scholars. Whether it’s providing guidance on coursework, mentorship, or career advice, Project COEDUCATE is committed to empowering scholars and equipping them with the skills and resources they need to reach their full potential.
